Koli, one of Finland’s finest solid rock fell. A 6 hour drive from capital area to Lieksa. it is time to have an little adventure with adventurous couple. We decided it would be best to stay the night close to Koli on a little farm area where you can camp rather than have a 12 hour drive for one day. Such a nice location with views, farm animals and fire place.
Autumn was rather far here but you could still see all its colors. Weather provided us a thick fog, but that didn’t really bother us as it did add such a mood and mystique. The weather worked like a glove with the local folklore and also made a great first impression on us. Since I have visited Koli for a few times during summer and although I do like the idea of seeing far over lake Pielinen, still I find myself longing for a mist. Maybe that feeling of being above the clouds?
The night we spent sitting next to the fire, up in the sky the clouds gave up a little opening and I think that night was the most little light pollution I have ever witnessed in my life. Stars were absolutely bright and on millions.
I could have stared at them for ages.
